Final Death Penalty Post

I believe that the abolishment of the death penalty was a very good idea.  I completly agree that there is something very wrong with the accuracy of accusations of death row inmates, if someone is on death row for 15 years and comes within 50 hours to being executed.  The article also says that we believe that Illinois has executed an innocent man, which would ruin our 30+ year streak of no innocent deaths.  I don't think that people should be killed for the murder of someone.  "People have a lot of lingering doubts about the possibility of a person being wrongly convicted.  They are willing to convict them, but when it comes to the death sentence, they want to be doubly sure of their guilt, even more than the system requires."  This quote may be true about how we never executed an innocent person, but we came very close back in 1999, I believe that even though they want to make sure the person charged with the crime is 100% guilty, this doesnt always happen, sometimes they send the wrong people to death row, for this reason we need to get rid of the death penalty.

  1. Solid opinion Ryan but work to make much better use of the materials provided. It's not clear whether you read the speech, there is a quote but you don't introduce it or set its context. Push yourself to go further to support what you're saying. Also, don't forget to update your blog weekly and get moving on your outside reading.
